Proxy server isn't responding?

Proxy server isn't responding?
in IE 10 - daily I do the below to get logged on.

click on Tools>>Internet Options>>'Connections' tab>>'LAN Settings' make sure that where it says 'Use a Proxy Server for your LAN' the tick box is unticked, click OK and then again OK

this is getting old how to do FIX this issue - not an everyday band-aid?
I do set it daily to automatic and daily I have to do the same fix outlined above -
