Internet Connection Sharing on Win XP w/ Xbox Live?
I've done this before at home but my computer has Windows 7.
The computer I'm currently on has Windows XP. The setup I have at home goes like this: Win7 Desktop w/ Internet Connection Sharing turned ON (internet access is through a netgear wireless dongle) -> Belkin Router -> Xbox 360 When I'm at home, it runs perfect. Now I can't get it to work on this XP machine. Any help would be appreciated. Ads |

What on earth are you using Internet connection sharing for when you have a router? The correct way to connect is ALL machines connect to the router, if there are not enough ports connect them to a network switch and connect the switch to the router. Passing the connection through another machine uses masses of resources on that machine, slowing it down, then that in turn slows your XBOX or whatever connection. And you are doubling the number of routing lookups internally. If you have a router you should NEVER turn on ICS. Totally confuses the machines.
