I can't do anything using the internet in Pokemon X and Y but my internet connection is fine.?

My internet connection is perfect and everytime I try to trade or battle or use the GTS using PSS it gives me an error code after about 30 seconds of trying to connect.

Error code:

Error Code 002-0120

In order to use online services, a newer version of this software is required.

Download the newest version of this software from the Nintendo eShop or other supported software.

I have updated my system and tried getting closer to the router but it still won't let me do anything using the internet and I can't find a newer version of the software. I really am having trouble understanding how to correct this so if anyone could just give me a short guide on how to fix this problem I would be really grateful.

It's been like this for couple days already. Check the current network status page of Nintendo here:

It says it's having some problems with its network due to high volume of traffic. I guess we'll have to wait till it's over.

im having the exact same problem. its really starting to make me ma, because i just got this game and 3DS for christmas yet i cant get online with pokemon Y. ican get on internet no problem. but it wont let me do the update for it. sometimes says something about an SD card? notsure what that is, but its a brand new 3ds i need help please

I have been having this problem too. I recently updated my system and thought that would fix it. Sadly no. What you need to do is update the game in the Nintendo eStore as they have released a patch. You should be running off of Version 1.2.

1) Update the whole system. Set up a Nintendo Network ID and MiiVerse
2) Go into Nintendo e-Store.
3) Click Menu
4) Click Settings/Other
5) Click on Updates - you'll find it under History
6) Click on Pokemon and select now or sleep mode.
7) It will download and you should be able to use PSS again!

im having an issue too, my wifi connection works ok, i can browse, i can connect to miiverse,etc, but when i connect thru the pss in pokemon x, the "communication with the server is interrupted" error pops up after a minute. i can only stay connected for 1 minute. i used the timer on my phone, i got an average of 1 minute of connection then the error pops up, it used to work very smooth a month ago. i tried everything, power cycling my router and modem. restarting the 3ds xl, switching to my other connection. nothing seems to work. any suggestions? thank yous!

i have had the same problem as well and i did look on the eshop as well, at first i didnt find anything then i typed in to the search bar Pokemon and ur just looking for either the x or y (depending on the game u have) update just scroll along a bit it should be there
