I have similar problems on occasion...especially with Firefox....this may help

hese are some steps you can take to increase the speed of your computer.

"Fixing browser and display issues on Yahoo"

==========================================
Yahoo advises that MANY of the problems related not being able to open up email....getting blank screens ....etc....is due to a clogged system. cleaning it up as described below should help. good luck.

In addition check what your RAM capacity is for your computer. Depending on who you talk to the minimum you should have will vary between 1GB and 4GB. (I have 1.24GB) You can check this by clicking on START....RIGHT clicking on MY COMPUTER ...then PROPERTIES..and you should be in the GENERAL section that will show you your capacity. Many older computers will have 512mb, which, if you are on the internet alot, will fill up quickly and slow your computer down. Also RIGHT click on an open area in your taskbar (very bottom of the screen) and then click on TASK MANAGER..when that box appears click on PERFORMANCE. the chart that comes up shows PHYSICAL MEMORY and how much is available. Contact a business that sells/services computers for guidance or research it on the internet.\
NOTE: No matter how much Ram you have if you perform the functions below it should keep your computers performance at a good level.

Click on this link and clean out your browser cache. This is one of the main reasons for a slow computer...blank screens, etc
http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browse…
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Download Ccleaner at this site....when it comes up click on DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION on the right side of the screen http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Good link on COOKIES slowing down your computer

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Click on START.....ALL PROGRAMS....ACCESSORIES....SYSTEM TOOLS...DISK
DEFRAGMENT...once this screen comes up click on DEFRAGMENT..
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Click on START...CONTROL PANEL...NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS
(or some thing similar)then INTERNET OPTIONS....next screen under BROWSING HISTORY
click on DELETE....click on DELETE again on the next screen.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
No matter what browser you are using click on HISTORY and delete it. Most of the time History is located upper left...In Google you have to click on the three horizontal lines...upper right
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sometimes switching to another browser helps

Before switching I would click on the F5 key to refresh your page to see
if that resolves your issue. You may have to click on it more than once.

This Yahoo link displays the latest versions of IE and MacIntosh
browsers that work best with Yahoo

===========================================
In addition, if you are trying to send an email and it is slow typing
you might consider switching to the Basic Format. it seems to help
some users.
Hover your pointer over the GEAR...upper right
...click on SETTINGS...click on VIEWING EMAIL
Place a check mark left of BASIC......click SAVE.

If you decide on this format some features will
be missing.
