why am i not able to do SEO?

i have recently created a company site, but company wants a good SEO.
i Created http://www.sanskritiinfoedge.com, and it contains sitemap as well. i submitted them to google, bing and yahoo. Neither of them have worked good for me. please help me. My boss will fire me..

you just read search engine guideline and some good search engine optimization tips providing websites. Search queries like seo tips, seo tutorial, seo techniques and then you will get many sites with lots of content.

First off, start by making both the links sanskritiinfoedge.com and http://www.sanskritiinfoedge.com to the same site. There are .htaccess tricks which let you either drop the www or keep it such that both get redirected to the same. This is considered a good practice for SEO because search engines may consider the two sites as two different ones with duplicate contents.

Also, write good meta description and keywords. You can also add image alt texts and image titles with keywords relevant to your site.

It seems your company has other profile pages in Linkdin, Facebook etc. In all these social pages for your company, make sure to include the link to the site so that even if users go to those pages, they'll know where to find more info on.

If you have access to other sites that the company owns, don't forget to link back to the site. If you have access to sites with better PR or age, it can work great for SEO. Make sure you anchor text (the text that someone clicks on to get to the page, between the <a href> tag) is what you expect users to search. If you expect multiple anchor texts, it doesn't hurt to use different anchor texts to link to the site in different pages of the same site or across different sites.. Link backs are very important part of SEO.

Also, don't forget to add Google Analytics to monitor your progress and Google Webmaster tools for various information that will prove to be helpful for you in the future.

There are many others things you could do, but this should be a good start. After having done these, don't forget to update some contents and re-generate and re-submit the sitemap. Also, it seems that major search engines are already aware of the website's presence, but without backlinking you won't get a very good ranks... and it does take time to get results.. explain that to your boss.
