How to get more twitter followers?

So some of my friends follow me on twitter, then i folow them but later on the unfollow me because I rarely tweet.

This makes my following/follow ratio bad. I have like 7 followers and 12 following.
I actually twitter more often now but now I have less followers so what should I do?
and what should I tweet about?

It's not all about followers. Start talking to people, retweet often,share links to videos, posts, blogs or anything you find interesting. If you want to build a highly engaged network, you need to first offer value - a reason for someone to follow you.
I teach the how to of social media, first an foremost I focus on delivering content which is of value to others.
Tweet about local events, something funny you have just seen, watch the trending topics and retweet things of interest to you. Search on a hashtag which is of interest to you, then offer your thoughts (remember to include the hashtag so others in the conversation will see).
People will need a reason to follow you, the best thing you can do is start talking with others first - find your voice, then your network will grow.
