Xbox live internet connection?

Okay whenever I get on Xbox live when I play call of duty 4 during a game my screen goes crazy and it says internet connection interrupted something like that It has a small picture of an unplugged cable. Why does it do it? Usually someone is on the computer or the laptop but does that affect it? We have road runner light if we upgrade will it fix the problem? What do I need to do to fix this problem?

it might be becuz of ur cable that ur internet connection shuts off

The person on the computer will most likely be effecting it.
