Sub-domains traffic goes to domain?

if i get visitor in my sub-domains for example test.test.com i will get more traffic and better rank for test.com? .......if this is impossible
and how about test.com/test can this get traffic to domain and better rank???

currently the way Goog and Bing view those choices are:

the first choice will most likely be considered two different sites, however the later choice is considered as page(s) on the main site and does pass authority to it
