what is wrong with this laptop?

Hi,
I have a HP Probook 4530s
The laptop turns on fine but all the sudden the battery is not taking charge and the laptop is unable to connect to my router (at home)
These 2 problems happened simultaneously.
At first I thought it was just the Charger, but why would the internet capabilities stop working?
Anyways any ideas?

The laptop probably is not charging. The jack in the laptop could be making a poor connection or the charger has a problem.

The reason for the internet connection to disconnect at the same time that the charger connection goes bad is because it is designed that way..
When a laptop battery becomes weak, the laptop shuts down the wireless adapter to save on the battery to give you time to shut down or plug in the charger
It sounds like an easy problem to isolate because it works some of the time.
Press, pull move on different parts till you find the problem

The power adapter jack is easy to damage when side pressure is applied and all parts of the adapter cords get frayed and the actual wall plug and or outlet could be
worn.
