I know for sure that colleges look at people's facebook profiles to see whether or not they will accept someone into their university, but do they do the same with twitter? People post much more stuff against college's will on twitter than facebook. Will colleges check twitter accounts? I am a junior in high school by the way.

Who knows what colleges will look at next year. Don't take any chances. Never post anything that could create a problem if the wrong person read it. Hackers are everywhere.

Chances are good that Admission Committees would never have the time to track down the Social Media Sites of all applicants; however, there is always the chance that they could, which is why in this day in age, it is by far safer to play it safe than to wind up feeling sorry. Set everything to private on your Facebook Account and have your Profile Picture of just yourself in a nice looking outfit, with no alcohol or cigarette in hand. Do not post anything on Twitter that could be seen as a negative. If you must share your negative thoughts, do it in an email.
