Instagram follow button not working?

Instagram follow button not working?
I am using an iphone 5 for instagram. I touch the follow button and it turns green for a sec then turns back to the blue follow button. i have tried restarting my device and reinstalling the application. the only thing i can do is unfollow people. this is so weird before it was working just fine. please help me.

You will need to check for updates for the app to see if the button works.
