Yes. The 1 GHz number refers to the speed of the processor, not the speed of the network connection.

The speed of the network connection (in your case, you want a 60 Mbps connection) depends on the speed of your network interface card. Most new computers come with at **least** a 100 Mbps card, but 1GBps cards are also common.

Of course..Internet doesn't properly depends upon processing speed of processor. LAN adapter depends for speed if you have 10/100 Mbps LAN adapter you will get speed up to 100 Mbps. Some internet speeds depends upon RAM.

It will depend upon how your computer is connecting to your Internet router. If it is by WiFi, unless you have 802.11n or faster WiFi router and wireless adapter, then you will not manage the full 60 Mbps.

If you have an Ethernet connection, a 1 Gbps connection will be fine. A 100 Mbps connection will struggle to support the 60 Mbps Internet speed as there are protocol overheads that have to be taken into consideration. A 10 Mbps connection will probably give you only around 6 to 7 Mbps.

Of course, if you have multiple devices such as computers, games consoles, tablets, smart phones, etc, then together they will share the Internet speed.
