Try contacting your ISP's Technical Support Group, they might know some things =D

I would suggest contacting you ISP, or try un-installing and re-installing your ethernet adapter.

There are many reasons for this to happen.
1)wrong drivers or LAN card.. If you have the wrong drivers or an unsupported lan card, the modem will not be able to transmit anything

2)problem with the modem.. Is the modem working correctly? are there any lights that are flashing or blinking? check with the modem manual if you have one to see if everything is fine with the modem. there may be electrical burns due to a power surge or something similiar.

3)ISP... Is your internet service provider currently active? is your subscription valid or expired or have you crossed the upload/download limit of your internet connection package? Are the servers of your ISP down or disabled? Any of these can be a problem caused by the ISP and not your computer.

In any case, without knowing further details, it is very hard for anyone to determine the exact problem.. call the customer-care number of your internet service provider and ask for help.

Check whether near by ppl who r using internet connection from same ISP are abl to connect to internet. If yes, that must be the problem with ur hardware.... If not, wait until that ISP fixes the problem
