how can i make my friends and my internet connections compatible?

Hello, Me and my friend can't connect on xbox live so I'm assuming that our internet connections aren't compatible is there any SIMPLE way to fix that?

An internet connection is an internet connection. If each of you can interact with the internet properly, then you should be able to interact with each other. You have something else going on, but not enough in your problem description for any sort of rational analysis.
