how do i set up an internet connection on a wii?

hey, I just got a Wii about 2 weeks ago and I need help connecting it to the internet. I heard you need a usb of some sort, but eh, im not sure. BTW, I mean a wired internet connection.

Sorry, but I don't think there's any other way than wi-fi

And yes, wi-fi is the USB way; i just bought the wi-fi connector a month or two ago and it's great. All you got to do is plug it in you USB, register a few things and boom there, now you on-line with your wii and battle your friends.

BTW the wi-fi connector costs something like $30

I've got the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector for my Wii + DS, the problem is though you have to have your PC on to run it. Another way is to get the Wii USB Network adaptor which is a lead that connects your broadband's ethernet cable to one of the Wii's USB slots.

well there is 3 ways to get an internet connection on a wii.

first is the wired connection. you have to buy a ethernet adapter at your local game store and it pulgs into your wii via usb port. then connect an ethernet cable to your modem and the adapter. then go through the internet settup choosing wired connection.

if you want to use a usb wireless thingy, go to your local game store and buy a nintendo usb internet thing. instal it on your computer and go throught the internet set up on the wii using wireless connetion.

if you have a wireless router, just go into the internet settings, choose wireless connection, then click check for access point. choose your access point that you have and enter the passphrase if needed.

To connect to internet just follow these steps:
1. Turn on your wii, and go to the wii menu (where all the channels are)
2. Go to wii options (at the bottom left of the page)
3. Click Wii Settings
4. Click internet (You might have to scroll through 2 pages) (or it might be right there)
5. Then click on the first option for internet, then select if your internet connection is wired or wireless
6. Then it will search for your internet connection
7. Then click the internet connection that is yours, (if it has a password to connect, then enter the password)
8. Then it will connect and your done!!
