Facebook help!?

Hi guys. So i've had a facebook for awhile now, but I have never changed my profile picture. I was aloud to get one at the age of 13 and now i'm 15. My mom is on my friends list. So what I want to do is to change my profile picture but I don't want my mother to see my 'selfies' I take, it's not like it's inappropriate or anything it's just awkward if she see it scrolling down news(she'll probably ask me about it or comment or something which is what I don't want). She goes on everyday (same as me). I'm not aloud to unfriend her(that doesn't matter because I never post anything anyway so she doesn't notice if i'm her friend or not) I was wondering if theres a way I could unfriend her and hide my profile picture from everyone else but friends? Anyone know?

you just add her to your restricted list, then she wont be able to see any of your activity

she'll eventually notice tho, and not be happy about it - but you can use the excuse "i didnt remove you as a friend, mom, that's what you said i couldnt do, i just added you to my restricted list, you didnt say i wasnt allowed (that's the right way to spell it btw) to add you to my restricted list
