If I turn off the internet will my wireless security cameras still work?
We recently got wireless security cameras and I was wondering would they still work if the internet went out? Also any other ways to remotely take them down

there are a lot of types of wireless surveillance cameras. most of them use WLAN (wireless LAN) connectivity. these types of cameras can be accessed within the WLAN even without internet connection. obviously, you won't be able to view it if you are outside the WLAN. check your camera features if it supports wlan viewing. usually, these systems comes with an application to remote view the camera. wireless IP cams use the WLAN network to connect to a router. in most cases, you just type in the IP address of that camera in a browser, then you can view what it is seeing, ofcourse with the proper access permissions like a password or something. it will still work even without an internet connection as long as you are within a local network accessing the camera.

Depending on your setting, security camera may keep working or may turn off automatically.

If you direct connect your camera with your Internet then it is turn off but if you give separate connection to it then it work as it is.
