RT means retweet which is when someone retweets your tweet. You could retweet someones tweet just by putting your cursor over their tweet and it will give you an option whether to "Tweet" "Retweet" or "Favorite". When you retweet someones tweet that tweet ends up on your profile. You will see many short other terms people use on Twitter such as DM means direct message and F4F means follow for follow.
