What am I allowed to include in my blog?
Hey everyone! I recently started my own blog, but I'm wondering what I am allowed to post and what I am not. I've recently read an article about someone who got sued for uploading a picture that was apparently copyrighted. I know that it's dangerous for bloggers to upload pictures from google because of unspecified copyrights. In that case, how would I know if I could use that picture or not? Where could I find pictures that I could upload onto my blog?

ALSO
Is it okay to mention brand name stores like Forever 21, H&M, and Hot Topic? Is it okay to upload pictures of items that they carry in their stores?
What am I allowed to say about their items? (What are my restrictions?)

If there's any other information I should be aware of to avoid lawsuits, please let me know!!

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello there,

First of all, read the terms and conditions and policies of the particular platform on which you are having the blog. 80% people use the pictures from the Internet itself which are having copyright. Every picture you see on the Internet which is not made by you is the property of others.

But, you can not ask anytime for using the stuff online to everyone. The professionals always display a logo, text or tagline behind picture to show their copyright.

Do not use any stuff directly from the internet on your blog. Always make some changes in the particular like; color, shape, background etc. and then use it on your blog. that way you can save yourself from any inconveniences.

For using any brand name and picture from any store, you should ask them for that. The better option is to become their affiliate, that way you can use their stuff legally. Almost every store or company offers affiliate programs for their promotion.

The most important thing is that do not violate their terms and conditions. like do not put any download button along with hidden links, or promotion illegally for your money making purpose.

The good way to mention brand name stores like Forever 21, H&M, and Hot Topic on blog is a review writing. You can furnish some good thing about the specific brand which you experienced and refer to others to get benefit. That way you can mention their product, picture etc.

Hope, It will help you out.
Thanks, and have great day ahead.

mentioning brand names is not illegal. distributing photos for which you were not the photographer is a copyright infringement unless you have (a) a license (b) a statutory exemption or © the work is so old that the copyright expired or otherwise has no copyright (a special case of statutory exemption).
