czech german shepherd or belgian sheepdog?
I am trying to decide between these two dog breeds and I need some help. I have experience with dogs and exercising them would not be a problem. I understand both doth have a lot of drive and energy , and I like these traits in a dog. Which of these two breeds would be better suited to someone who can reach all exercise and socialization requirements , but will probably not enter either into dog sports or competition s in the future. I have researched both breeds extensively so trust me , I am not expecting a golden retriever.

When you are talking about a specialised breed like this I do feel that you will not meet too many people on yahoo that could give you specific details about living with these dogs. I can't.. I could about rottweilers but that is still only one person's point of view.

Your best bet is to go on groups...ie yahoo groups or facebook groups or forums for the specific breeds and talk to people that own these dogs. If you get in the right groups you'll find people that have been in the breed for years and years and often work / show / breed as well and can really give some insight.

That's where I would start.

I searched on facebook and found three CGS..

there's one.

I would focus on getting a GSD from a good breeder who breeds nice work dogs. You do not want anything over the top since you wont train for that level and there is no such thing really as the old Czech dogs, they have been mostly bred with West German dogs.
