How to block certain sites from adding a new tab in Google Chrome.?

Hi,

I really hate it when a new tab pops up with an ad. Is there any way how to block it from coming?

I tried multiple Chrome Extensions, like AdBlock Plus, Personal Blocklist and some JavaScript switcher (there popped up something which said like 'Are you sure you want to leave this page?').

Is there any way how to prevent it from opening a new tab?

The only reason that ads would open in other pages would be because you have some sort of adware installed on your computer.
