How do you know if a forum has a "no follow" for backlinks / link building? SEO?
Thats it. Im performing SEO for my new site! How do I know if the forums allow backlinks (all do I know) but how do you know if you get credit for ranking? is there a firefox ad on or a site I can check before I start (potentially wasting my time) back linking?

You can check it with nodo-follow add-on as it highlighted the text with different colour for no-follow and do-follow blogs. You can also check it in the page source by right clicking on your home-page and clicking on page source and then search for no-follow and if it's there then its no-follow otherwise it's do-follow. You could use http://www.backlinkwatch.com/

I just checked my site | http://www.superheroalliance.net | and it has 219 backlinks. Same way you can check yours. Smile

Hope this helped

Download the SEOmoz toolbar. A 'show nofollows' button then appears in your browser. Click it when on a page and all no follow links are highlighted. The toolbar has also a lot of other nice tools for internet marketeers.

Long way - right click>view source and look for the link to see if it contains the attribute rel="nofollow".

Better way - install Firebug in your Firefox browser then right click>inspect element on the link and you will be shown the source code for the link and look for the nofollow tag.

Color of a link has nothing to do with it's properties, what lol nonsense. That is strictly a style feature and saw nothing about the markup.

There is a ton of bad information online about how to rank high in the search engines. So I put together the best information all in one spot and it is totally free:

As we all know, the most crucial part of SEO is keyword research. Without proper keyword research ang geotargeted phrases, it is impossible for Google to detect these stuff unless you set it on webmaster tools.

You'd better check them before posting! If you are using FireFox use SEOpen plugin - it is very easy to use and will show no follow and do follow links

Ok. First of all install SEO for Firefox plugin. All no-follow links you will see in red.
If you want to have backlinks from forums - you can create forum profiles filling all the information about you and your website (use Roboform Plugin to speed up filling the fields in with your info).
Submit some valuable posts to the forum. But don't spam there with your link yet not to be banned in the first day. In about a few days later come back to the forum and activate the signature. Don't forget to include your backlink in the signature.
Always choose the forums with minimum PR4 (you can see this also from the SEO for Firefox plugin).
So build the backlinks and check your website rankings everyday and you will succeed!
Good luck!
PS See the links to the recommended tools below.
