When you click on someone's name on fb message, do they know you're about to message them?
with my friends, right when i click their name on the facebook message bar on your right, they message me first lol and I was wondering if that was just a coincidence or not?

They don't know until the message is sent to them...

They can see when you are typing but only if they have your chat open in the chat bar or if they are looking at your conversation.
