How can I download this song?

I really need a song for school, which I have found on a website. There is no download link, only a play button, which plays the song once clicked. Any idea how I can retrieve the song from the site?

Difficult to say without knowing anything about the equipment that you have available.

Post a link to the site where you found it (identifying the song somehow if there are more than one), and tell me what equipment you are using and I might be able to help, even if it means encoding it on my equipment then posting it to a link that you CAN download it from.

Right-clicking and using 'save target as' or other options could help, although depending on the player the site is using the way to download can vary. Using a audio capture program you could literally record the playing sound, for example using Audacity, search up how to record sounds the computer is making and you could record it. Edit it a bit and you could have an audio file that has only the song and therefore the music you need.

School related activities are generally exempt from copyright, however do remember that ripping songs like this is illegal!

hmm...how are we supposed to figure this out unless you tell us the name of the websites and song? We might be able to suggest song 'downloading' sites which have your song. Anyways, check if you're song is on mp3skull.com. If you find it, try all the uploaded songs on the page you reach when you search your song's name-->if one works and is the original one (no remix)-->Right-click on the "download" button under it and click "Download linked File" from the drop-down right-click menu.
