SEO conferences and resources?
I am web developer with over 10 years of experience in web consulting. Now I am going on my own and building different types of web sites (e-commerce). I am looking for professional SEO conferences and other SEO tools and resources to help me learn about search engine optimization as well as help me to find tools to use. So I guess my question is: what are the best SEO tools and where to find information about SEO conferences and schedule (by Google preferred)? NO ADVERTIZING PLEASE!

Conferences and seminars are meant for people who need an expensive bill to convince them they just learned something they couldn't have found in a book for $20. Believe it or not, the SEO industry is pretty mature -- if you picked up 2-3 books from Amazon that are top-rated, chance are you would learn EVERYTHING offered in a $500 conference or seminar, plus you could do it at your own pace on your own time.

The traffic secrets answer is great. Has a lot of valuable information (I own it). I also use something called http://www.trafficvault.com. Has how to guides based on various aspects of SEO, PPC, Web 2.0, and affiliate marketing. I know that traffic secrets cost $400 for everything while TraffcVault costs about $100 for the first month and about $150 for subsequent months.
Also with TrafficVault they have a calendar of Internet marketing events (which judging by your questions is what you're looking for). Hope this helps and good luck! |
