What can i do to convince my parents into getting me a facebook?
hi, im 13 and really want a facebook, because my friends and my family members have one except my parents. i also want one because my volleyball club has a page and i can stay updated with new camps and stuff. i wrote an essay to my parents explaining how i know internet safety, the features facebook has and how there are privacy settings. do you think this will work? what else do you think i should do?
btw i already tried to sneak one but they found out. i don't want to sneak one i want them to be okay with it.

Tell your parents that you will befriend all of your relatives and other people that they approve of.

The privacy settings are a good idea. Facebook has had a lot of controversy recently over privacy issues but there are many articles online on how to make sure that your information isn't going anywhere you don't want it to.

Also, just by the way, you don't need your parents permission to get Facebook.
All you need is an email address, so even if they say no, you can just get one anyway and not tell them about it.

You probably told your parents this already but if you opt to make your profile private then only the people who you accept as friends will be able to see your profile and talk to you. Also, If your sure their will be nothing on your profile that you won't want your parents to see you could tell them to download a net nanny which allows them to monitor your communications, photos etc.there is a paid one at this address but I'm sure theirs a free one somewhere. http://www.netnanny.com/features/facebook.
hope this helps,
