Is it illegal to access the deep web?
I heard about the deep web, and I want to browse it to see what its like, and what's on it, but I'm a little bit scared, I don't want to get in trouble with the police, so is it dangerous or illegal, and will I get in trouble?
Also, what is tor, and would it always protect me?
Also, would it be illegal to just look at websites, even if they do illegal operations, or sell illegal objects?
I just don't want to be flagged for something I didn't intend to do.
Also, what are .onion sites?

so you should be scared Keep Off. You would have to register to join the websites. by doing that you become a member of the deep websites and if they are doing illegal things then you as a member become liable for prosecution

In todays news Hack a password have been closed down their members in 5 countries have been arrested

No, you aren't doing anything illegal just by accessing them. If you see something illegal (for instance child pornography, as one of the worst examples possible), and you don't immediately close the site you can be liable for prosecution. I'd also advise reporting sites that you find any illegal material on to the police.

Hi Andy
some things are best left well alone. some of these sites contain illegal information. the problem is when visited your computer picks up a tag which can get you into trouble.
the cookies on these sites are logged in to your computer so expect a visit if this becomes a regular habit. the knowledge of the internet is simply this it is a cesspool where the dregs of humanity have a field day with the young and the innocent.
why those of us who have known this from the outset know to stay well clear of so called social media sites even.
just don't go there child.
sorry you might find that a hard thing to take but the truth is far worse than you could imagine.

ok don't listen to the idiots who posted before me.

NO you will NOT get in trouble with the police as long as you aren't buying assasins or drugs or viewing child porn you are ok.

Answer to you first question: The TOR browser is what you need to access the deep web safely, the safest thing you get on it is your history won't be saved.

Download Cyberghost to spoof your ip address and download a proxy server while youre at it.
.
QUESTION 2 : NO. It's not illegal to view such websites, if you a scared about viewing them thats what you have cyberghost and a proxy for. they will protect you.

QUESTION 3: Flagged? bro if you did not do anything wrong , you can't get in trouble. trust me.

QUESTION 4: .onion is the same as .com , .on the deep web sites would look like this ( HBbhibYRD.onion) they have no specific name.

to get started here's a link to the hidden wiki. which contains sections and links to the most important/most popular sites.
