How to take good pics or selfies?

Hi ive been on instagram more frequently now and I have 152 followers but im not happy with my pictures. Im a teenage boy but I look so much younger than my age and all of my pictures are youngish. I also can't take a good picture or selfie to save my life. I can never pic a good pose , angle, or facial expression. I know to make sure you're in good lighting but when I do it still comes out bad. Do people really care how my pictures look? how can I make myself look older? and and how can i take better pictures and selfies?

If these are followers you don't know, you are probably being followed by pedophiles who enjoy the fact you look young and juicy. If they are people who know you, they know what you look like, so why worry?

I don't want to sound mean, and you're young - so let me put it in a few simple phrases.

1) The world doesn't revolve around you. Nobody outside your immediate family gives a toss about what you look like, especially on a site like Instagram - which leads me to point 2.

2) Instagram is composed mainly of insecure, vain, conceited people who think that having their face plastered all over the internet is somehow important. I'm sure an anthropologist would have a field day with that place.

3) To take a good picture, learn how to operate a camera, a stable base (like a tripod) and a remote timer.

Youth goes by so quickly, why do you have to waste it worrying about and putting so much time and effort into stupidity like Instagram and "selphies"?

I hope, I REALLY REALLY hope that some day you, and everyone else on that lame site, will look back and realize what a total exercise in idiocy it is.
