how to remove tag request on fb?

i was on my friend's timeline and shes friends with this other girl so I clicked the other girl's pic by mistake and somehow sent a tag request to her how do I cancel it? HELP
so if I block her will the request go away in her notifications?

The request itself cannot be undone.

If you click on the photo, and see "with [name]" in the description, you can hover over it and remove the tag, but that is only if the tag already exists.

ok but if the person is blocked does it go away??? it must right??? (same thing happened to me) ughh stupid iphone did it, i was only trying to zoom in on the picture and this is beyond embarassing.
