If a member leave a group in Facebook, can the admin know it?

FB will not notify it to anyone, including admin; so unless the admin know that person & look it into the member & can't found it, they don't know it. Mind you, searching member's name is often glitchy, can't find it even they're still a member; so don't conclude hastily.

NO the admin and member cannot know about this. if the member is know then they can know by view the member list.

If any one leave your Facebook group then an alert admin will receive. If you want to leave then you should follow these Steps..
1. Click Facebook
2. Click Groups in your sidebar
3. In the page that opens, select the problematic group
4. Once you have opened the group, in the upper right (down about 2?) you will see a gear icon, click it.
5. The dropdown offers you the “Leave Group” option
6. Click the confirmation leave group button in the popup.

You just checkout your member list.
Only this way you will get knowing about your all member status.
