So I want to watch Sherlock season three episode one, but since I'm in America I can't- and I tried a bunch live stream sites but none of them worked. Will sherlock be on hulu in America?

I'd say it'll be on once it comes out in America on Jan 14th i think. I have hulu plus too and missed the premiere ;c your not alone!

Well I don't know about hulu but the first episode of sherlock season 3 is supposed to be premiering tonight ( January 14,2014)
