How much does it cost to advertise on T.V. at Christmas and Autumn?
This is for an English project which is due in on Monday! I need to know the costs (Roughly) of different T.V. advertising spots in Autumn, Christmas (And if you don't mind!) Pre and post watershed times. All answers would be gratefully accepted. I've been looking online now for nearly 2 days!!!!! Please help me! Thanks a lot! :-) x

Best you talk to a media company. http://www.mediacom.com

They are the largest in the world.

It largely depends on how much air time you have and whether it is 10,20 or 30 sec slots. Xmas advertising starts early so again you need to define the length of campaign. The TV campaign is also run in tandem with other marketing promotions and offers so timing is important.

So to answer your question, you need to consider the following costs:-

Research & INsight - market research company
Advertising agency creative costs
TV Production costs (making the ads )
Cost of celebrities
Post production (after raw ad made, it's the finishing touches)
Media planning
Media Costs (Autumn & Xmas length and timing)
Digital agency costs & online (web/facebook etc) campaigns
Outdoor advertising (48" posters or people canvassing on the ground)
Direct mail (creative agency, design, packaging costs)
In store promotions (design agency & promotions agency costs)

Much of this info is not TV but adds up to the complexity of a campaign.

As an example of a shopping centre in Scotland, TV costs for these periods (media cost only - that is the TV slots) was £350k and £80k to get the ad agency&production company to produce the simple ads. For a big brand with celebs you could be talking £2m at least
