Help with a girl that may like me back?

So there is this girl I have liked since 5th grade. I am a somewhat shy guy. But what makes it worse is, she is really popular and I am, well, not.

There have been signs to me that she likes me, an example is one time I asked her to sign something, and she signed it on the back in "big and swoopy" letters with a big heart below it. However, she does not even follow me on Instagram.

One time , she was talking to her friend near my desk before class started. I noticed she looked at me a couple times, so once when she did I brought my head up and looked back. She looked shocked and she said my name and tried to "play it off". Also, we grades each others quizzes, and she got mine. She said, across the class, "(My name), I got yours!" And she was sort of red faced. She would tell me good job and I got a good grade.

Today, we were doing something in class where we when do different stations and took notes on whatever it was. She and I ended up at the same station one time. And, she took the spot along the table next to me. We were there for a couple of minutes and for most of the time, we were touching each other. It was mainly our forearm to shoulder that were touching. And she didn't pull away even though she could have for a while.

Does she like me or is it just my imagination? And how should I talk to her without embarrassing myself? And what should I do next? Lastly, how can I start up a conversation with her?

Hmm, I think she is interested in you. Some girls like shy boys (am one!)...anyways you can test it by talking to her...see her reaction....

Alright, so it looks like she might like you. But her not liking you shouldn't keep you from talking to her either way.
Just next time ask her how her day is going and how's she doing and then begin asking if she's doing anything on the weekend.
It's ok to compliment her because that's what girls like and the conversation should just lead itself. And if you have similar interests make sure to talk about that. Don't be shy and try to make her laugh and smile.

i'm pretty sure she likes you. I don't even follow or friend my own crush because i'm just embarrassed to. you should follow her on instagram first and ask her to follow back--i'm sure she'll do it in a heartbeat. just talk to her like she's any other girl, act cool with her and she'll be comfortable with you. trust me, if only MY own crush were like that, i wouldn't be so shy.

The way you describe it makes it sound like she likes you back, I'm a girl with lots of friends and am dating a shy guy. He just strait up told me one day that he liked me and he was all red in the face. I already liked him so I said yes. Our circumstances were really similar to yours. Just tell her straight out. I know that's harder than it sounds, but I'm sure she feels the same way about you

I'm 90% sure she likes you. Sometimes we can't be sure with girls but yeah. So you are shy, that's cute and a plus. How to talk to her? First try not to get nervous (it happens haha). Take it slow, start with a small talk now and then. Don't push it, it is very annoying (experience). Try to look for things you have in common. Start being her friend. Show her you like her with actions because you don't want to friendzone her. Try to get to know her and vice versa. Yeah pretty much that.
