I sent this girl from class a friend request, why won't she accept me?

We talk formally in class as we're in the same group. I sent her a message on facebook saying hi along with my request. And she responds with a happy face emoticon but doesn't accept my request. Why?

Dude it's called having patientces. If you have waited a long time go up to her and ask her why. maybe she just didn't see the request and u should try sending it again. Girls have done the exact same things to me all the time but I actually eat them out.
