How do i set up Mail on a macbook to fetch new mail?
I currently have my yahoo and gmail accounts set up on the mail app. The problem is that new incoming mail are not being "fetched" automatically and the only way to know if I have any new mail is to open the app every time. Is there any fix to this?

Thanks

I'm using Mavericks 10.9.2

The simple truth is that Mac Mail is a really invasive and CONTROLLING App that can't be turned off, easily. And I refuse to use any App that won't let me choose to use it, or not, without having to repeat this step every few days or weeks.

But sadly, when I try to disable it, it still tries to regain control of my Email.

If we could totally turn it off for good, the best way to get all Web Mail, is to use Google Chrome, and check them frequently. And, there are "Email Notifier" Plug-ins / Extensions for Chrome, and other Web Browsers, that monitor AND signal you when new Gmail, and Yahoo, Emails have arrived.
