What are the implications of using a 302 redirect with regard to SEO?
I'm working with a company, exchanging my traffic for their content, and have run into an "I don't know what to do".

The content, which belongs to them, is on my site via an IFRAME (content hosted on their site). The user generates some embed code from said content and is then able to paste it to their site. Within the embed code is a backlink to my own site.

Now the problem...

That backlink is merely a 302 redirect from the company site (they insisted on this for traffic analysis) to my own.

Question: Does my backlink on the user site have any PR value for my own site? Are their any negative implications (SEO, Google) for ME, having everything set up this way.

I know they can change the redirect at anytime and I can live with that. I'm just more concerned about PR while the links exist.

Thanks for the help!

Currently, it's Google.com's search directory policy to allow for 302 redirects as long as it does not cause a mismatch of the domain name to an actual relevant website. For example, a directed domain name such as dog.com to a webpage selling to cats.

Good luck!

There is no PR transfer if it is a 302 (moved temporally) only if it is a 301 (moved permanently).

Links that pass juice are better for SEO but links for traffic can be profitable too.
