My dad has corrected every little thing I say incorrectly through out my life. I know he has been around a lot longer than I have, but he will correct me on every little detail. For example, if I say a t shirt is navy blue, he will say it is dark blue. So what, I know the shirt is damn blue! Earlier today I was telling him how the Golden State Warriors NBA team have a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on their jersies, but I accidentally said Golden State Bridge. He jumps at the chance to correct me. I say, you know what I meant. It's okay to correct someone but not when you go overboard. These are just random examples. It's like an addiction for him.

They're what we call "Grammar Nazis". Like the ones on Facebook who go out of their way to correct people's mistakes. Its rather irritating as there's one living under the same roof as me. Even if I don't ask for her opinion, she'll interrupt me while I'm talking to "correct" me because apparently she doesn't make mistakes and assumes everyone is dumb.

I would confront him about it and just straight up give him a dose of his own medicine. I know its stupid to hate being corrected but that's just rude. You don't correct people for the sake of being right. There's a right way of correcting people without coming off as arrogant.
