My brother in law posted on fb "Women cant live with them and you cant live with them." By him posting this I am very offended n I would like to tell him that I am offended by it but not sure how to say it in the nicest way possible. I have lots of love n respect for so I do not want to hurt him in any way possible.

"Wouldn't be alive without them, however it's becoming increasingly likely women will one day be able to live without men, so you may want to stay on our good side"

Kind of joke-y but also truthful.

The thing about facebook is basically what your doing is going to all the people you consider your friends and yelling your opinions at them. I personally don't find that overly offensive, unless he's been a jerk about women before, but I can understand wanting to say something back. DEF don't go on a pro feminist rant though, it sets the cause back farther than it pushes it forward.

How is that offensive? It's his Facebook page and he can post whatever he wants to post. If you don't like it defriend or "hide" him. Otherwise my only advice to you is to remove the stick from your bum.

If you don't want to hurt him, then don't say anything. It's a play on a cliche, meant to be funnier than the actual cliche. Unless you are a woman who men can't live with then don't take such an offense to a silly Facebook post. After all it's not like he was speaking directly to you so why take it personal. I am a woman, a blonde one at that. I have heard all the female and blonde jokes and because I don't feel that I am anything like the jokes, ie. impossible to live with, or a dumb blonde, they don't offend me. As the saying goes, it's much easier to change your own mind than to change others' minds.

well seeing as this saying is said as a joke you really have no room to move, also it is his Facebook, and he can say what he wants when he wants, if you dont like his posts defriend him.

Just tell him you are sorry he is so unhappy. Making a fight out of this will not help anything. I do advise you say it to him and not post it on fb though. People make a big mistake airing their grievances for the whole world to see.
