What does Retweet mean on twitter?

If I just push the button where it says retweet but I don't put the RT before that tweet or put don't put it all does that mean I'm stealing that tweet from that user?

It means that anybody following you will also see that tweet on their Twitter Feed. If you quote a tweet, it enables you to add a comment or opinion to that tweet, without having to reply to the original user.

No, it does not mean you're stealing the tweet if you use it, tweets are not intellectual property, and companies cannot own a tweet.
