what are the @ things and how do people talk to each other like that??

use @ when you mention someone's user name on twitter or want to send them a message. they'll see the message and reply to you @ whatever your user name is. it basically allows a person to see that someone mentioned their name.

Things to be tweeted (= sending out a twit or tweet (message) on twitter) can be what you are thinking or doing right now a new post on your blog that you wrote a ReTweet (RT) from someone else, think of it as a forward in email The @ sign basically is a direction, and is always followed by a username, for instance @icantinternet . By doing this, the tweet is addressed to this person. It can also be used as a reply. Beware, it is not the same as a DM, since @messages can be read by anyone else, and DM's cannot. |
