how to maintain friendships after high school?

I have 6 weeks left in high school and i have a very large group of friends, there are about 20 of us, but i'm only really close to about 8 of them. Everyone says you don't stay friends after high school because of different locations and everything but I can't imagine my life with out them. Has anyone stayed close to your high school friends?

Ive graduated from high school 3 years ago and Im still friends with my buddies from high school. We made sure to keep in contact with each other and when I come home for the holidays or summer break, we plan to hang out. If you have their numbers and their facebook accounts then its good. Make sure to talk to them and not forget them while making new friends at college.
