How do I get more readers?

My friends and I have a sports blog (http://www.thebackfieldpress.com). I struggle to post regularly because of a busy scheduled and my friends aren't just that into it. I think that if we were to get a solid following my friends would give them more of an incentive to write a little more. I have even offered them the option of making podcast that way they wouldn't have to write but I still struggle to get them to contribute. Any ideas to get readers?
