Why do companies advertise?
Everytime I see advertisements, whether online or in person I wonder what is the point of that? When I see ads I never think "hey I'm going to that product now". Mostly, I think "damn, thats the tenth time I've seen that advertisement on Youtube, I'm never going to buy that now". Just because it annoyed me so much I have a negative effect and try and not buy it. So why do it? Why do companies do that. P.s a perfect example is Flo from Progressive. Does anyone else want to ring her neck?

I feel the same way, just because I see a billboard with an advert on it doesn't hipnotize me into buying whatever it is.

Because companies want to tempt us to buy or consume something. The ads are annoying, so I downloaded Adblock for Firefox. If only there was an Adblock for Television.
