What is the best strategy for an online job search in NYC?

I'm looking for a job in NYC and I'm finding it to be more difficult than I thought, I have sent my resume to several online boards like indeed and suchlike but no luck so far...

I hear you, getting a job is increasingly difficult lately, I think you are right about doing your job search online but more important than that is knowing HOW the systems work when it comes to job search so that you can play with them in your favor, I found a great book called "Get the job" which was written by an expert who worked as an insider in these systems but it is not your average book on job search, this is very detailed and it clearly teaches you how. I found it in amazon and I bought the hardcover but you can buy the kindle version if you want, I followed the advice and it worked! I got a job!
