My mother makes me feel insecure about a guy I like... Help?
I'm and 19 year old college freshman.
I'm seeing this guy, and I think I'm starting to really like him enough to a) see where it goes, and b) ask to start a relationship. I haven't had a boyfriend in a really long time, and I miss it. But since my mom got a Facebook account, she went on and "looked at the other girls he added" (direct quote form her... I don't know how she did it if she's not "friends" with him)... and she said "there's more sophistication in their profiles" because I had a colorful "cover" with some character from a stupid show. Just for fun. So now because of her I changed it to the Boston Skyline (where I go to school so it makes sense), and I'm just generally upset. I'm one of those people who gets depressed easily (medication doesn't help), and falls into the "who would ever want to be with someone like me?" when in fact I'm pretty great (I mean that in a non-selfish or materialistic way - I think I'm usually funny and kind and open minded and smart, and I'm not bad-looking). Anyway, should I just ignore my mom? Ads |

Don't ignore ur mom completely, she might have some good advice, but when it comes to u like the guy its gonna be up to u if u really think ya can have a good relationship.
U need to work on ur self-esteem woman, stop being urself up. Ur a young, beautiful girl! Ads |
