Is direct messaging a girl you have not met weird?

So a girl I have never met just been friends on all social media recently/randomly liked 2 of my pics on Instagram and then commented on one of my tweets. We had a little open twitter convo where I basically complimented her and she would thank me or say I made her day. I always had interest in this girl and it was like the luck of God that this all happened haha but on that note, is it safe to say I have the go to DM her to try n see if something can happen or am I just overthinking? Nowadays, there are so many possible ways to meet someone. Someone whom you think you would get along well and eventually end up together. Why not give it a try for you to see where those things would lead you. Good Luck!
