Hi. I used to work as an internet marketer. I did do some SEO but it mostly involved keyword research and content according to it. I then got a job which involved full time SEO. I accepted it as i thought i might be good at it. I know SEO involves keyword research and proper placement of it but i am not good with sitemaps and robot.txt stuff.. Do I need to fear this position..?? Am I suitable..? what do you suggest..??

We are suitable for anything, for what type of position we desire. It only takes time and patience to accomplish successfully for what profession were in to. For your question that you need to fear your position, well the answer is no! because you are only driven by your fear and insecurity. We must be professional at all times, we have to deal with our fear and insecurity because its present. I hope this thing would help.

I could reel off all the things you need to do SEO but instead I'm gonna do you a real favour.

There is so much more to SEO than keyword research and content, in fact that's probably only around 10% of it.

Firstly I would recommend you read a good blog which keeps you to date with tutorials and developments and secondly I would personally pay to do the Web CEO program.

I am an seo consultant and even though I thought I knew a lot, this course helped me learn more and it would be a massive help for someone in your position.

I'm not going to leave a link because I value my account. But you'll find Web CEO with a simple google search. You will want to do the professional course which is around $500 last time I checked.

Internet marketing is related but not much to the seo.
And seo is not just the keyword research and stuffing keywords. There is much more to it. But you need not frighten bcoz, it is not that much complicated as your are imagining it to be. It is very simple. Look for more seo info at http://www.nicheforseo.com/

I guess you will find seo interesting and not scaring any more.
