How do I link my instagram account to my FB account?

Without logging into my Instagram, how do i link it to my Facebook acc. I forgot my password and I want to reset it using my facebook, but it says its not connected to my ig account. But I've reseted my password before with that same fb account and now it says its not linked to it. And I cant use the other methods to reset my ig acc, so please answer, I dont want to lose my ig!
