PS3 internet connection?

I have my PS3 directly plugged into the modem. I go to Settings-Network settings-Internet connection settings-Easy-Auto-Detect. Then I perform the Test Connection and the IP address and connection fails every time and i dont have my manual and i dont know what to do

internet connection -
i get no internet connection
if there is a video on how to do this then tell me

It sounds like you need to configure your internet connection name/password.

First contact Sony. Then Once Sony gives you which ports you need to open up then write it down and call your internet provider. Tell them you trying to connect your ps3 and you need to open these # of ports in order to play online and also get online.

You need to call your internet provider and tell them what you are trying to do. They will most likely re-set ur modem.
