Do you think this is a bad one for hair?

I bought this hair brush two days ago and I start from the bottom and work my way up and my hair isn't even wet.

it doesn't even have a cushion where the bristles are coming out

It's been breaking my hairs when I brush it I have thick straight and lots of hair.
Do you think I should use a different none? Do you think this one is a bad one

Denman brushed are more so used for defining curls or used wet to blow dry hair because of the holes and empty spaces on the back, however if it's breaking your hair I would recommended a paddle brush with the cushion, which is used for volume
